Environmental vision
Epson Telford integrates environmental consideration into
corporate practice, preventing pollution and complying with
all the relevant legislation. We also help to meet group-wide
standards and targets – reducing the burden of processes
on the environment, developing recovery and recycling systems,
contributing to regional conservation efforts and above all,
continually improving our entire environmental management
regime.
Their activities cover every conceivable aspect of our operations, from segregation and recycling process waste, doing the same with drinks cans in the canteen or paper
in the offices, to sending reusable items like folders and chairs to educational centres. Anything that can’t be treated in these ways is incinerated, and the recovered energy
turned into electricity – cutting our landfill emissions to zero. Beyond that, our Green Purchasing initiative demands suppliers to consider the environmental impact of their own processes and products.
Epson Telford is at the forefront of Seiko Epson’s environmental activities and was the first site within the Group to achieve ISO14001. This recognises the culture of continuous
improvement that pervades everything we do. So, whether it’s creating special areas here to preserve the habitat of the rare crested newt and great burnet flower, or setting aside
part of the site for the Countryside Stewardship Agreement and welcoming educational visits, we will be having a positive effect on the world we share with all our neighbours.
